Hotspot Ecosystem Research on the Margins of European Seas

The EU funded Integrated project HERMES (Hotspot Ecosystem Research on the Margins of European Seas) is designed to gain new insights into the biodiversity, structure, function and dynamics of ecosystems along Europe's deep-ocean margin to underpin the future development of a comprehensive European Ocean and Seas Integrated Governance Policy.

The project "HERMES - The Nordic Margin" and the  Polarstern Expedition ARK-XXII/1a-c  are an integral part of HERMES.
